This lot consists of a matching pair of cased European engraved percussion pistols. The frame, hammer and folding trigger feature a broad floral pattern engraving. A game bird is engraved on the left side of the frame. This is a unique bird game engraving in that the bird is engraved horizontal to the barrel. A Liege proof is stamped on the left side of the barrel at the breech and the number "372" is on the barrel underside at the breech. The pistol is equipped with fixed sights and a rifled barrel. The one piece ivory grip has an engraved steel cap. With the pair of pistols is a partitioned case lined in red velvet. The lid has a blank initial bone plaque and the lock has a bone escutcheon
