This rare Unique is a four shot palm pistol manufactured by C.S. Shattuck Arms Co. of Hatfield, Massachusetts, from 1901-15, with a total production of only several thousand. The pistol has blue and casehardened finish with the left side plate marked "UNIQUE/C.S. SHATUCK ARMS CO./HATFIELD, MASS." This is the correct markings for the pistol, as the toolmaker misspelled Shattuck with a single "t" on the marking die. The barrel cluster is numbered to the gun.
