Description:

This is an extremely rare experimental 14 gauge Winchester Model 59 shotgun with only 4 or 5 of this actual model ever produced. These 14 gauge shotguns were manufactured for John Olin to test the experimental aluminum 14 gauge shotgun shells being made at Winchester-Western's Alton, Ill. Plant. Moreover, this shotgun was from the personal collection of John M. Olin and is confirmed by an included letter from Kevin Beane, the Wildlife Manager of Nilo Plantation. The shotgun features a single bead front sight and a ported extended choke (full). The experimental serial number on the underside of the receiver is the only marking on the shotgun. Mounted on a special high grade walnut checkered forearm and straight grip stock with a leather covered pad. It is the most deluxe of the Model 59 prototypes. Length of pull is 14 inches. Included is a box of Western 14 gauge shotgun shells (24/25).

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The shotgun retains 99% plus original blue finish showing a few light handling marks. The wood is also excellent with a couple minor handling marks and the varnish beginning to craze. The checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
