The "480" code P38 pistols were manufactured in late 1940 and represented the first true military contract pistol with 7,250 made. The "480" code is stamped on the left side of the slide and trigger guard. "Eagle/359" proofs are present and visible numbers match with the magazine numbered to another gun (2231). The pistol is fitted with ribbed grips and the magazine is stamped "P.38" above the aforementioned serial number on the left side
