Description:

This receiver was manufactured in late 1934 and was subsequently turned into a Model 1903 Style T Heavy Barrel Target Style Rifle. The Style T rifle was available between 1929 and 1932 but the barrels alone were available until 1940. These barrels are star gauged just like a National Match barrel but are not marked on the muzzle. The underside of this barrel is stamped with a large "P" over "2/OP26/SA/E-25". The front sight is a Lyman Globe style and the rear is a fully adjustable Lyman peep sight mounted on the right side of the receiver. The top flat of the curved bolt handle is stamped "N.S." and the top of the bright polished bolt body is marked with the full serial number. The left side of the receiver has the 1936 "Hatcher Hole". Mounted on the correct style pistol grip stock with two reinforcing bolts, a boxed "S.A./S.P.G." cartouche and there is a cupped checkered steel buttplate. The last Style "T" Heavy Barrel Rifle was sold in March of 1935. With a leather claw sling marked "CS/1917".

Rating Definition:

Very fine as assembled, the barrel retains 95% of the original blue finish with some scattered scratches and dings along with some muzzle wear. The receiver retains 99% of the reparkerized finish with some minor scratches and minor high edge wear. The stock is excellent with scattered dents and scratches. Mechanically fine with a stiff safety. The sling is good. A solid representative example of a desirable rifle!
