Description:

The barrel on this example is marked "S A/flaming bomb/2-38" and the receiver was manufactured in early 1938. The bolt is marked with the steel lot code "J 5" on the underside of the safety lug. The rear sight does not have the 2,850 yard notch. Mounted on a smooth walnut pistol grip stock with two reinforcing bolts, a boxed "S.A./S.P.G." cartouche and a smooth steel buttplate. With a leather sling and a P.J. O'hare rear sight cover.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, 90% plus of the original parkerized finish remains with some scattered wear, dings and scratches. The earlier reparkerized bolt is a replacement. The stock is very fine with scattered scratches, dings and a moderate chip at the toe. The cartouche is light but legible. The sling is good.
