This receiver of this example was manufactured in October of 1943. The barrel is marked "R A/flaming bomb/3-43" behind the empty front sight seat. The serial number is correctly moved off to the side so that the installed one piece Redfield scope mount holding a Weaver M73B1 scope does not cover it. The bolt is stamped with an "R" on the bottom flat of the bolt knob. Mounted on a smooth walnut pistol grip stock with a boxed "FJA" cartouche, an "RA" rebuild stamp, an ordnance wheel stamp, a small circled "P" proof, 2 reinforcing bolts and a fine checkered steel buttplate. With a leather claw sling stamped "G.&K./1918/W.J.D.".
