Desirable Early World War II Remington-Rand Manufactured U.S. Army Contract M1911A1 with Accessories

This example was manufactured in the fall of 1943. It has the type III slide marking of "REMINGTON-RAND/SYRACUSE N.Y. U.S.A.." with the matching "P" on top of the slide in front of the rear sight. The frame has the "FJA" and "P" inspector's mark on left side. The right side of the frame has the U.S. Ordnance cartouche, with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", stamped over the serial number. Has the standard fixed low profile sights, serrated slide stop, checkered thumb safety, checkered magazine release, serrated arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop and a stamped checkered trigger. The hammer is early narrow version with the checkered spur. The barrel is a correct wartime high standard manufacture that is stamped "HS" and "P" on the sides of the barrel lug. It is fitted with a set of brown checkered, Keyes-Fibre marked, plastic grips with a "K" inside a star and the mold numbers, "21" and "27" on the inside. It is complete with a spare WWII blue magazine that has the small letter "G" on the lip, an extra set of WWII Keyes-Fibre grips, two original field manuals (FM23-35), screwdriver and reproduction box.

ConditionVery fine as restored with 98% of a gray reparkerized finish overall. Both of the grip sets are excellent with minimal handling marks. The manuals are both excellent and so is the spare magazine and shipping box. A nice looking WWII M1911A1 service automatic pistol.
