Description:

Blade front and two position rear sights, with the "DWM" logo on the toggle and "Gesichert" stamped on the upper safety position, making this one of the First Issue Navy Lugers that were retrofitted by Navy armorers to have their safeties function similar to the Lugers being issued to the Army. "Crown/M" Navy proofs are present on the barrel and extension, with "crown" firing proofs on the barrel, extension and breech. The back strap is marked "WW/5751" just below the safety. Straw finished small parts, with checkered grips and a nickel finished magazine with concentric circle decorated "crown/M" stamped wood base.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 60% of the faded original blue finish, showing areas of mixed gray and brown patina on the muzzle and lower safety position, bright wear on the high edges and on the left side of the extension, and scattered spotting and handling marks overall. Grips are very good, with some flat spots and dents. Mechanically excellent.
