Manufactured in 1963 and 1964, this is number 455 of only 3300 produced. The pistol was manufactured in response to public demand for small caliber, high velocity handgun. Built on the frame and action of a Ruger flattop single action revolver with a rotating breechblock in place of the cylinder. Ramp blade front sight with an adjustable rear notch sight. Custom brass trigger guard and back strap. The barrel is drilled/tapped for scope mounts and marked "RUGER HAWKEYE./WIN. .256 MAG. CAL.". Standard receiver markings and smooth walnut grips with the black eagle Ruger medallions. Complete with a unnumbered factory box.
