Manufactured in 1882. The barrel has the one line Hartford address on top with "45 CAL" on left side of trigger guard. Nickel plate with niter blue trigger, screw heads and hammer (polished sides) and fitted with checkered Rampant colt grips with a lanyard ring on n the butt. 1,857 .45 caliber, nickel plated Model 1878s revolvers with 5 1/2 inch barrels were manufactured by Colt.

Very fine. The revolver retains 80% original nickel finish showing flaking exposing an untouched original smooth dark brown patina. The grips are very fine with some high edge wear and a few minor handling marks with overall crisp checkering. Mechanically fine.
