Description:

This example was manufactured in 1883. The top of the barrel is stamped with the one line address, the left side of the barrel has the very desirable "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" etched panel and the left side of the frame is marked with the three line, three patent dates stamping. The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked "44 CF" and the bottom of the barrel is marked "44" just ahead of the cylinder pin. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap, with the assembly number "6032" on the loading gate. This revolver has the early oval ejector rod head and hammer with elongated checkering on the spur. This is one of the last Single Action Army Revolvers fitted with walnut grips before the introduction of the hard rubber eagle grips in 1882-83. The accompanying factor letter verifies the caliber and finish, with the barrel length and grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 50 to Hartley & Graham in New York, New York on September 22nd, 1883. The consignor indicates and includes his research that this revolver was allegedly owned by Harvey "Kid Curry" Logan of the Wild Bunch Gang.

Rating Definition:

Very good, strong traces of the original blue finish remains in the protected areas with some areas of brown patina and the balance having a gray appearance. There are scattered minor scratches along with some older scratches and dings. There are some areas of minor pitting. The etched panel is lightly visible. The grip is fine as refinished with 5 notches on the bottom left side along with scattered minor scratches and dings. Mechanically functions but is slightly out of time, missing half cock.
