Description:

Manufactured by the Bruno factory in 1940, the first year of production. The top of the receiver is marked "7.88/945/1940" with the left side having a Nazi firing proof and the serial number. The left receiver wall is marked "G33/40". Standard inverted "v" front sight with the sheet metal front sight cover and adjustable rear tangent sight graduated 1-10 meters (100-1000). The serial number and firing proof also appear on the bolt handle and "MANY/GERMANY" is stamped ahead of the floor plate. Early production walnut stock and handguard with a sheet metal plate in front of the cupped buttplate. The underside of the stock has the matching serial number over two "eagle/WaA63" proofs and two more "eagle/WaA63" proofs are in the grip area.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The carbine retains 85% original blue finish with a smooth gray patina on the balance. A spot of pin point pitting is present on top of the barrel. The wood is also very fine with a number of minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
