Description:

Carbine length barrel with the receiver marked "U.S./MODEL 1898, SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" followed by the serial number (129300) that falls into of the Model 1898 carbine serial range (125,000-135,000). Pinned blade front sight fully adjustable rear sight graduated to 2,300 yards on the ladder and 1-5 on the "C" marked base. The later pattern replacement straight grip stock has "46" and a circled script "P" stamped behind the trigger guard. With an original sling.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel retains streaks of original blue finish and the receiver retains traces of original case colors with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The arsenal replacement wood is fine with some chipping at the stock toe and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
