A) American Arms Double Barrel 41 Caliber Pistol

Manufactured from 1866 to 1878 with an estimated 400 examples chambered for the .41 rimfire cartridge. Marked "AMERICAN ARMS Co. BOSTON MASS." on top of one barrel, "PAT. OCT 31. 1865 - JUNE 19. 1866" on the other. Blue barrels and silver plated brass frame with smooth square butt grips.

ConditionGood. The barrels retain mostly a smooth brown patina on the balance showing limited light pitting. The frame has an attractive aged brass patina with two "X"s hand marked on the butt. The grips are very fine with some minor handling marks and retaining most of the finish. Mechanically fine.

B) Frank Wesson Medium Frame Superposed Pistol

Manufactured from 1868 to 1880. A Third Type with full fluted barrels and the Wesson legend positioned in one line on the barrel. The grips are numbered to the gun.

ConditionVery good. The barrel cluster retains traces of original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The frame retains scattered traces of original silver plating with the exposed brass having an attractive aged patina. The grips are fine with a few pressure dents and some minor handling marks. Mechanically very good.
