The rifle/shotgun configuration was only manufactured in 1875 in limited numbers. The shotgun barrel is 10 gauge and the rifle barrel is 40 caliber. 2 3/4 inch chamber on the shotgun barrel and there is an extractor. German silver blade front sight and adjustable notch rear sight, with the rib marked "E. REMINGTON & SONS ILION. N.Y." near the breech. Casehardened frame, with double triggers, checkered hammers and checkered lever. Mounted with a smooth walnut splinter forearm and straight grip stock with an iron buttplate. Length of pull is 13 7/8 inches.

Fine. The barrels retain 30% original thin blue finish with a smooth mottled gray patina on the balance. The frame has taken on a smooth silver gray patina, with bright original case colors remaining on the side plates. The wood is very good some with mild pressure dents, minor scratches and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
