William R. Pape was the first to patent the idea of a choke for a shotgun and also patented several other ideas such as manually retracting firing pins and an extractor. The receiver, trigger guard and break lever have tight English floral scroll engraving with "W. R. PAPE" engraved in a banner on each side. The barrels have a single brass bead sight, are choked cylinder/improved cylinder and have 2 5/8 inch chambers with an extractor. The "SAFE" marking on the top tang is inlaid in gold. Mounted on a nicely figured Turkish walnut forearm with horn insert, multi-point checkering and a straight grip stock with silver initial shield and solid red rubber recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 5/8 inches.
