Manufactured in 1920. Pinned blade front sight (replacement), ladder rear sight, two barrel bands, saddle ring staple with ring on the left receiver side and full length magazine. Barrel has the two line address/patent marking, two line nickel steel marking and "38-55", all on the left side. The receiver and barrel have the Winchester factory proof. Smooth forearm and straight grip stock with carbine buttplate.
Fine as partially refinished (barrel and magazine). The barrel and magazine retain 95% of the blue finish showing some thinning to a gray. The remaining metal surfaces show traces of original blue finish in the protected areas, otherwise a smooth gray patina. The wood is fine with a long scuff mark on the buttstock (left side) and some minor handling marks overall. Mechanically excellent.
