Description:

Issued to the Nazi Navy near the end of the War, with alloy material used in place of stainless steel, which freed up the steel for other essential purposes and reduced the weight of the flare pistol. It is believed that these flare pistols started at serial number 6000 making this example (6008) the eighth pistol manufactured. The left side of the frame is marked "eagle/N/eeu/6008", "44" and "eagle/swastika/M III/3" ahead of the safety switch labeled "SICHER" and "FEUER". Chambers are marked "4/eagle/N", with the chamber indicators and 3-position selector switch on top of the frame. Fitted with a smooth walnut forearm and checkered walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Fine. 75% of the black anodized finish remains, showing areas of bright wear, white spotting and the start of a brown patina in a few areas. The underside of the left chamber shows a number of scratches. Some minor dents and pits are visible on the stainless components. The grips are very fine with a few mild dents and crisp checkering. The forearm is also very good with several very small dings. Mechanically excellent.
