Description:

Very rare Allgemeine SS Officer's visor cap with insignia. The black wool twill visor cap has the classic Stattelform profile with white wool piping around the crown and black band. The cap has a black, lacquered visor with gray reverse. The cap has a stamped silver national eagle and swastika national insignia on the crown and silver plated SS Totenkopf insignia on the band. The cap has a silver bullion chinstrap secured by two pebble finished aluminum side buttons. The inside of the cap is lined with gray rayon or silk and has a cello diamond with faint gold label in the center. The sweatband is lightweight gray leather.

Rating Definition:

Near mint. The cap body and band show only very minor handling wear. The Vulkanfibre visor is excellent. The national and Totenkopf insignia are fine with some tarnish. The chinstrap and side buttons excellent. The lining is good with some discoloration from wear and the label on the cello diamond is illegible. The gray leather sweat band is good with several torn sections. This is an excellent example of an extremely rare and desirable piece of German WWII headgear.
