A single shot bolt action rifle patterned after the 98K rifle, the BSW was a popular training weapon with youth groups, the military, and the paramilitary formations of the Nazi Party. Inverted "V" front sight and tangent rear sight, with early commercial "crown" proofs on the barrel and receiver, the BSW logo and "Suhl" on the receiver ring, and "K.K. Wehrsportgewehr" along the right side. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a brown leather sling, smooth steel buttplate, a "droop wing eagle/WaA63" (assigned to multiple makers) on the right side of the buttstock, and the "SA" runes on the left surrounded by "SA d. NSDAP" (Storm Detachment of the National Socialist German Worker's Party) in a circle.
