This silver presentation platter measures 13 3/4 inches in diameter and has the following inscription: "1974-1975/GIL HEBARD GUNS/MILLION DOLLAR CLUB AWARD/from/CONNORS & LOHR CO. INC./S&W". Connors & Lohr was the Midwest sales representative for Smith & Wesson and this type of award platter was presented to retailers who sold one million dollars worth of S&W firearms. Gil Hebard Guns of Knoxville, Illinois, was established in 1950 by Gil Hebard and his wife, Mary, and continues to operate to this day. Gil Hebard pioneered the use of earmuffs and pistol scopes in bullseye handgun competition and was named as one of the 50 great shooters of the 20th century by the NRA’s Shooting Sports USA.The back of the platter has the Webster & Wilcox International Silver Co. marking with hallmarks.
