Manufactured 1895, the second year of production. Full length magazine tube, Lyman ivory beaded blade front sight and an elevation adjustable rear sight. The top of the barrel is stamped with the two line address and "38-55" at the breech. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1894/-Winchester-/PAT. AUG. 21. 1894". Smooth nicely figured straight grain walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a forend cap and crescent buttplate.
Very fine. The rifle retains 60% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The hammer and lever retain some vivid original case colors. The wood is fine with a couple minor gouges and some minor scratches. Mechanically excellent.
