Description:

Patterned after the German "Schiessbecher" rifle grenade launcher, the Type 2 was developed as a result of a Nazi German/Imperial Japanese technology exchange program, which also saw the introduction of shaped charge anti-tank weapons to the Imperial Army and Navy. Measuring 7 1/4 inches overall, with a 2 5/8 inch long, 30mm detachable rifled cup, a blued steel body with a pair of clamping arms, and the underside marked with the Japanese model nomenclature, serial number "2230" and the secret "ni" Nagoya Arsenal stamp over "53" (code for 1943). With an unmarked canvas belt pouch and a copy of the book "Imperial Japanese Grenade Rifles and Launchers by Babich and Keep.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 98% of the original blue finish, showing a small amount of brown and gray patina and mild handling marks and spotting overall. The canvas pouch is fine shows some mild wear and rust spots.
