The included Colt factory letter confirms caliber, 4 inch special heavy weight barrel without markings, blue finish and Coltwood plastic service grips with floating firing pin listed as a special feature and states that the revolver was an experimental prototype kept by the Colt factory. The letter also identifies the included Maroon Heritage box numbered to the gun. The left side plate has a Rampant Colt and serial number on the inside of frame and crane. Serrated ramp blade front sight, top strap grooved for sighting, blue finish with polished hammer sides and fitted with checkered Rampant Colt grips.

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original blue finish with some minor handling marks and a light cylinder drag line. The grips are also excellent with a few minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically functions. The box is fine with a tear on a short end.
