Manufactured in the 1860s. The locks are marked "WILLIAM POWELL & SON", border engraved locks, trigger guard and forearm hardware. The water table is marked "POWELLS/2199/PATENT" with two Birmingham proof marks. Damascus barrels with a single bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib marked with the number "1" and "WILLIAM POWELL & CO 35 CARRS LANE BIRMINGHAM". The matching serial number is marked on the lower tang, bottom of each barrel and on the forearm hardware. The number "1" is also on the forearm hardware. Push-up lever mounted on the upper tang marked with a bold "1" and mounted with a checkered walnut splinter forearm and straight grip stock with an iron buttplate and silver initial oval. 2 1/2 inch chambers, choked improved cylinder/improved cylinder with extractor. Length of pull is 14 1/2 inches. Comes in a hard canvas case with leather trim and green felt lining with a William Powell & Son label affixed to the inside of the lid.
