Smith & Wesson New Model Number Three Revolver with Australian Shoulder Stock, Holster and Stock Pouch

Fixed sights, with the two-line address and patent markings on the barrel rib, matching numbers on the barrel, latch, cylinder, and butt, and the Australian "broad arrow" stamp on the butt. Fitted with a casehardened hammer and trigger guard and a pair of checkered "S&W" logo grips. The Australian government order 310 revolvers in this configuration between the serial numbers 12202-13199. While this revolver falls within that serial range it was subsequently "converted" into an Australian model as the grip frame shows draw files and vice marks and the back strap stock hole is non-professionally drilled. The stock is of the proper Australian style, fine walnut construction with "12295" and the broad arrow on the lower tang of the nickel mounting iron, mounting screws installed on the right side, and a checkered hard rubber S&W buttplate. Also included is the brown leather stock pouch, unmarked with a brass closure stud, and a brown leather dual flap holster configured to accept the revolver with or without the stock mounted, marked "149/broad arrow/56"inside the top flap.

ConditionFine, with 60% of the original nickel finish, showing evidence of cleaning and polishing overall, areas of dark gray steel patina, spotting, handling marks and scratches. Traces of case color remain on the hammer. Grips are very good, with some light dings. The stock is very good, with some light scratches and dents overall, as well as a fine grain and figuring to the walnut. The stock and pouch are fair, with a mid-sized hole in the holster near the bottom, extensive cracking, and verdigris. Mechanically excellent.
