Description:

This shotgun was manufactured in Italy in 1976 with high visibility green dot front and brass bead mid sights on a matte vent rib. The barrels are ported and choked full/improved modified with 3 inch chambers. The left side of the chamber has a gold inlayed "MX8" denoting the model number under "MANIFATURA ARMI PERAZZI BRESCIA-ITALY." The coin finished receiver is intricately engraved with game scenes. Each scene is signed by master engraver Angelo Galeazzi, a pioneer in the Bulino style of engraving. The right plate depicts a flock of ducks descending onto a pond. Exceptional detail and care has been taken with the foreground ducks with individual feathers painstakingly engraved with fine lines to add depth, texture, and the illusion of truly soft belly feathers. The tall grasses in the foreground and trees in the back all have been dutifully engraved with the utmost care. Even the water of the pond has incredibly fine lines to give the impression of glimmering waters. The bottom of the receiver is engraved with a highly detailed bust of a hunting dog, having just retrieved a bird. Extra care has been given to the fur, as well as the eyes with subtle highlights and shadowed areas to establish depth. The left plate depicts four hunting dogs giving chase to unknown game in a rocky wooded scene. Again, incredible detail has been put into the animals to really convey a sense of depth and movement. Tall grasses and trees add further to the overall scene. The area surrounding the breech is engraved in a tight/line scrolling floral pattern with attention given to every detail to improve the motif as a whole. This pattern is carried over to the upper tang. The trigger, trigger guard, and breech lever have been done in a contrasting blue finish. The guard and lever are also expertly engraved. The stock is a superb walnut with very fine line checkering, straight wrist, and Schnabel tip forearm with gold inlaid design. It is fitted with a solid black rubber recoil pad and includes cased extra 29 1/2 inch barrel with removable chokes, full/modified, and 2 3/4 inch chambers. Measurements (taken with main barrel set installed): Weight - 7 pounds 11.8 ounces, length of pull - 14 3/4 inches, drop at comb - 1 1/2 inches, drop at heel - 1 7/8 inches.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 99% original finish and some minor handling marks. The gold inlayed model number is beginning to lose a small amount of gold. The stock has been modified by trimming the comb down. The second barrel set is excellent with 99% original blue finish. Mechanically excellent.
