This is late production, unaltered DWM Model 1906 American Eagle Commercial Luger pistol rig that includes an original black leatherette cased set with accessories. These American Eagle Lugers were made for export to the United States and thus have the distinctive large American eagle crest over the chamber area. These early DWM Lugers have excellent fit and finish with beautiful hand polished rust blue metal and straw colored smaller components. The model has short style frame and upper receiver with the extractor marked "LOADED" with the first model, polished lower safety area. This is a late model as it has only the standard "Crown N" commercial proofmarks on the underside of the barrel, barrel extension, breech block and bolt. The front of the frame and underside of the barrel are marked with the full serial number, with the last two digits stamped on the back sides of the various small parts. The front of the frame is correctly stamped "GERMANY" indicating it is intended for export. The pistol is fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips and it is complete with two magazines: one original nickel plated magazine with the unmarked wooden base and a current reproduction magazine with the black plastic base. It is housed in a current reproduction black leatherette type storage/carrying case. The case itself has a durable, black rough textured exterior material, with a dark green felt lining and has four compartments: one for the Luger, a brass cleaning rod with steel oiler on the end, a disassembly pin punch and an unmarked takedown tool and the two magazines. The reproduction case has the leather handle on the front with brass locks and hinges.
