Scarce Early Production World War II Inland Division M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine

This is an early example of a correct WWII Inland M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine that was manufactured in Jan 1943. It has the standard front and rear receiver markings. The barrel is stamped "INLAND MFG. DIV./GENERAL MOTORS/1-43". It has the standard front sight stamped with "IS" with an "S" marked two position flip rear sight. It has the various early parts such as the flat bolt, type two barrel band without the bayonet lug, unmarked push button safety and the unmarked magazine catch release button. The carbine is fitted with an walnut high wood M1A1 paratrooper folding stock with the correct, early two rivet handguard. The wire stock has the original leather cheekpiece with the correct casting marks on the buttplate. The underside of the pistol grip is stamped "IO" with a small ordnance cross-cannon proof and a single circled "P" proof on the rear of the grip. It is complete with an original early canvas sling with one magazine.

ConditionVery fine with 85% plus of the original finish overall with wear on the exposed receiver area and the front and rear section of the correct blue finish bolt. The stock and handguard are both in fine condition with a nice darker walnut color with a slightly lighter colored pistol grip. The very fine wood shows light handling marks, pressure dents and dings overall from field use. The sling is also in good condition showing dirt and light rust stains from the keeper. This is a totally correct, original World War II M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine!
