Description:

Developed in 1942, the Raider Stiletto was patterned after the British Fairbairn-Sykes dagger and was issued primarily to the 1st Marine Division and the 1st & 2nd Marine Raider Battalions. Measuring 11 7/8 inches overall with a 6 7/8 inch double edge spear point blade etched "U.S.M.C." in a banner and "CAMILLUS/CUTLERY/CO./CAMILLUS,/N.Y." above the guard. The hilt is a single piece of zinc-aluminum alloy with an oval hand guard and checkered and ribbed grip. With a brown leather sheath reinforced with brass and steel rivets and stapled throat liner, with custom U.S.M.C. themed markings.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The blade shows some light spotting and polishing marks, with the etching still sharp and legible. The hilt is poor with some material absent from the guard, cracking, and scuffs. Sheath is good, with some defacing of the markings, scuffs and cracks.
