It is marked "-WINCHESTER-/MODEL 1895" on the upper tang with the serial number and a hand-carved "W" or "V V"on the lower tang. The same "W" is on the the bottom of the stock three inches behind the lever. It is fitted with a ramped blade front with bead sight and adjustable Lyman's frame and receiver mounted peep sight and has a blue finish with casehardened hammer. Mounted with a walnut forearm with hand grooves and single barrel band and straight grip stock with a smooth steel buttplate with compartment and cleaning kit. The factory rear sight is absent.

Good, incomplete, missing handguard, rear sight, and saddle ring assembly. The carbine retains 50% of the original finish with a brown patina where finish is absent or thinning on the barrel band, frame, lever, magazine, and buttplate. There are various minor scratches and marks including some scrapes on the right side of the receiver. The forearm and stock are very good with some dings, scratches, marks, and dents.
