This drop breech rimfire rifle is a continuation of the Allen and Wheelock model and was manufactured from 1871 to the 1880s. It is marked "FOREND & WADSWORTH/WORCHESTER.MASS./PATENTED SEPT. 18. 1860" on the top of the frame with no other visible markings. It features a blade front sight and folding notch rear sight. The falling block action is operated by the trigger guard, spring loaded extractor, checkered hammer and smooth trigger, with a smooth straight grip stock with a single barrel band, sling swivels, and a compartment in the crescent shaped butt.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The rifle has 30% of the original blue finish with the finish thinning and turning brown on the barrel and an aged gray patina on the frame, forend cap, and butt plate. The triggerguard and hammer have a gray/brown patina. There is some minor oxidation, and minor scratches, dings, and marks overall. The re-oiled stock is very good with only minor marks and scratches.
