This Maynard Model 1882 long arm comes with two rifle barrels and one shotgun barrel with each barrel having its own forearm. 32-40 caliber 24 inch rifle barrel with combination Beach front and ladder rear sights and marked with the numbers "40" and "15" on the underside. 20 gauge 20 inch shotgun barrel with a bead front sight and marked "10406". 25-25 caliber rifle barrel with globe front and ladder rear sights and marked "REBORED & RIFL'D BY J. STEVENS A. &T. CO. CHICOPEE FALLS". The right side of the receiver is marked "MANUFACTURED BY/MASS. ARMS CO./CHICOPEE FALLS/1882." The opposite side is marked "EDWARD MAYNARD/PATENTEE/MAY 27, 1851/DEC. 6, 1859" followed by "1873". The lower tang is marked with the serial number and a peep sight is mounted on the upper tang. Mounted with a smooth straight grip stock with a nickel plated brass buttplate. The custom partitioned takedown case is lined in red velvet.

Very good. The 32-40 caliber barrel retains traces of original blue finish in the protected areas with the balance a smooth patina with some minor spotting/pitting. The refinished shotgun barrel retains 90% blue finish with mild pin point pitting. The 25-25 caliber barrel retains 20% of the blue finish with the balance a mottled gray patina with a few patches of minor pitting. The receiver retains 40% original blue finish with the balance a mottled gray patina with some light spotting. The buttplate retains 80% original nickel plating. The refinished wood is very fine with a few minor handing marks. The case has been nicely refurbished/relined to fit the set.
