LAMSON & CO./WINDSOR. VT./U.S./BALLS PATENT./JUNE.23.1863/MAR. 15, 1864." Fixed front and folding leaf rear sights, a cleaning rod on the right side of the forearm, and saddle ring and bar on the left side of the receiver. Mounted with an oil finished walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate and a clear "GGS" cartouche directly behind the sling bar. There is a small "S" stamped on most of the components and a very small "GGS" stamped on the bottom of the forearm.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The crisp metal surfaces have a brown patina with some spotting. The receiver is mostly a silvered out gray with patterns of the original case colors visible. The wood is very good with a visible cartouche, clear inspector marking, and scattered minor dings overall. The markings are clear. Mechanically fine.
