This revolver has pinched blade front (blade absent) and frame groove rear sights with "PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS.ILION NEW YORK.U.S.A./NEW-MODEL" on the top flat of the barrel and single letter sub-inspection marks on the barrel, frame, brass trigger guard, cylinder and on the underside of the grips. It is fitted with smooth 2-piece walnut grips with a cartouche on the lower left grip panel. The matching serial numbers are marked on the lower barrel flat behind the loading lever and on the grip strap under the left grip panel. The cylinder is marks with "K" "98" and "55".

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The revolver retains 30% plus of the original finish with more finish remaining on the frame than the barrel and a mottled gray patina on the exposed areas. There are various minor marks, scratches, dings and oxidation throughout. The reoiled grips are very good with some minor scratches and marks with chips on the lower edges. Mechanically fine.
