The New Model 3 dominated target competitions in the late 1800s. This example has target sights and checkered hard rubber grips with the S&W monogram on top. It is marked with the one line address on the rib and the serial number marked on the barrel, latch, rear cylinder face, and the butt.

Very good. The revolver retains 60% of the original finish. The balance is now a mottled gray patina showing casual handling marks and surface scratches overall. The markings are crisp. The hammer and trigger guard display traces of the original case colors. The grips are also very good with only the slightest marks. Mechanically excellent.
