Description:

Nearly one third of all New Model 3 revolvers were exported to Japan for military use. This revolver was likely once shipped by Takata & Co. to the Toyokawa Naval Base given the combination of 6 1/2 inch barrel length and the plain anchor stamped on the knuckle of the back strap. It has a half-moon blade front sight and notch rear sight. The two line address and patent information is marked on the top of the rib. The matching serial number is marked on the barrel, latch, cylinder, butt, and on the underside of the left grip panel. The grips are checkered walnut.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains traces of the blue finish with strong case colors on the sides of the hammer and otherwise a brown patina. The cylinder has rotation marks. The grips are fine with small amounts of red paint on the right panel which has a hairline crack on the rounded upper section that extends down to the bolt hole on the interior, and some minor scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent with clear markings.
