Birmingham proofs are present on the water table. The frame and locks show 98% plus engraving coverage, chiefly in a leafy scroll pattern, with radiant burst patterns on the screws, "WESTLEY/RICHARDS" in a shield on the underside, and "K.Thomas" (W-R factory foreman) on the lower tang next to the triggers. Each lockplate has a gold-filled "WESTLEY RICHARDS" in a banner, along with a gold-highlighted cocking indicator, and the upper tang has an engraved break lever with gold inlaid "1" and a gold "SAFE" indicator on the automatic safety. Checkered fancy walnut pistol grip stock, with a gold "1" on the engraved splinter forearm hardware, teardrop accents on the stock flats, scroll-engraved hard rubber grip cap, unmarked initial shield and a checkered naked flat butt. With a tan canvas covered hard case, with purple felt lining on the interior, merchant tags from Westley Richards and Brady Sporting Goods inside the lid, cleaning tools, a 2-piece cleaning rod and a pair of nickel finished snap caps. Excellent plus, with 99% of the original blue finish, showing some light scattered scratches on the barrels, a small patch of gray patina on the side of the right barrel, and minor edge wear. The break lever and trigger guard both show an attractive plum color, and the locks and frame all show a bright finish. The stock is excellent, with a few minor pressure storage dings and superb feathering and grain in the wood. The case is good, with mild wear overall. Mechanically excellent.
