Description:

This is an excellent example of a fully automatic, registered, NFA, "machine pistol" that was manufactured by the Mauser factory, circa 1932-1935. These were a standard pre-War Model 1930 Mauser pistol that was manufactured as a fully automatic weapon, with this one produced with the later and most familiar "Westinger" designed, two position "locking" selector switch. These pistols were intended for both commercial and military sales with a total of approximately 95,000 sold with this pistol probably sold as a commercial model and probably in Europe as it does not show any export or military markings. This pistol has the standard, three line Mauser factory address markings on the right side with the three line Mauser markings on top of the chamber area with a single "Crown/U" proof on the left side of the barrel extension and top of the bolt. The left side of the lower frame has the Westinger designed selector switch that is marked "N" and "R" with a small Mauser Banner logo behind the switch. The only serial number on this pistol is on top of the bolt, indicating it was a fairly late production model. It is complete with an original Mauser Banner combination walnut shoulder stock/holster. The stock iron is unnumbered, however the rear of the lid has been stamped in very small numbers with the matching pistol serial number of "81282". As noted it is also accompanied with a spare barrel/upper receiver (Chinese import) that is numbered "83835" on top of the bolt. This spare component has the barrel bored out and rifled in 9mm, and it is stamped "9mm" on top of the chamber area. This very scarce and desirable pistol comes with two original magazines, one ten shot magazine and a spare 20 shot magazine, both are stamped with a "MAUSER" banner on the base plate. This is an extremely rare pistol as so few were manufactured with only a very, very small numbered ever legally registered in the U.S. This wonderful transferable matching pistol is an original pistol registered with the ATF.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 90% plus of the original blue with light wear on the edges, high spots and the muzzle with thinning on the grip straps. The stock is in very fine condition, with a nice clear, distinct Mauser Banner logo on the left side with light handling marks and scratches on the sides. The attaching iron retains 25% of its blued finish, and the hinge retains 85% of its blue finish mixed with some brown patina. There are two cracks on the underside of the stock, one that’s about 3 inches long and the other one about 5 inches long. The longer one shows an old tight repair with the smaller one starting to separate somewhat from age. The spare barrel/receiver has been reblued and is about good. NOTE: This item is restricted as a National Firearms Act (NFA), Fully Automatic Weapon that is currently registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATF&E) that has been classified as a "Curio or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11.
