Exceptional World War II Nazi Waffen-SS Pattern Leather Scope Case with Shoulder Strap

Measuring 12 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches wide, brown leather construction overall, with a black leather cap, a belt loop secured with four gray-headed rivets, and a set of blackened metal buckles. With a black leather shoulder strap with spring loaded clips. No makers markings are present on the body, cap or strap. The overall pattern is a match for sniper scope cases known to have been issued to snipers of the Waffen-SS, particularly ones manufactured by Sauer & Son. As this example reportedly was liberated from the aforementioned factory.

ConditionExcellent, with some light scuffing and handling marks overall. The strap is good, with some cracking and wear. A rare example of a scarce piece of Waffen-SS kit; though produced in quantity, leather gear suffers greatly from wartime use, and often snipers would try to destroy evidence of their job if they were in danger of being captured, out of fear of reprisals, leaving very few in this high of a condition.
