Popular with both Communist and Nationalist fighters in China, the Shansei 45 Broomhandle was a local development, taking the Mauser/Spanish broomhandle pistol that was an extremely popular pre-WWII import item and combining it with the American-designed 45 ACP cartridge. Blade front and 1000-meter rear sights, with Chinese markings on either side of the frame, matching external numbers, small ring hammer, and a ribbed grip. A small "sun" stamp, in the style of the Nationalists, is present on the top of the cocking knob. No import marks are present.

Very fine as refinished, with 98% of the lightly buffed rust blue, showing a few areas of bright gray patina and scattered handling marks. The grips are good replacements, with a few mild dents. Mechanically very good.
