The included letter confirms the rifle's configuration, caliber, half octagon barrel, half magazine, and plain trigger. The rifle was received in the warehouse on November 1, 1904 and shipped on August 23, 1905 with four other Model 1894s as part of order 72588. The barrel has a dove tailed front sight with amber bead with an elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight and is marked with the two-line address and patent information ahead of the rear sight and "30 W.C.F." at the breech. The upper left barrel flat is marked "NICKEL STEEL BARREL/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER". The upper tang is marked with the model designation and trade mark in three lines. The serial number is marked on the front of the frame. It is fitted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with forend cap and crescent buttplate.

Very good plus. The rifle retains 30% plus of the faded original finish with some finish thinning on the barrel, bright edge wear, and some blue remaining on the frame with a brown patina on the exposed surfaces. The buttplate has a dark gray patina. The wood is very good with some minor scratches, dings, and marks. Mechanically excellent.
