This is a perfect mating of two highly desirable rifle components, the very desirable and highly reliable S&W, MP15 lower receiver group with the long range Alexander Arms upper receiver and barrel group chambered in the very accurate and highly desirable "6.5 Grendel" cartridge. The S&W components were a copy of the original Colt AR15/M4 design made to their specifications and dimensions, that includes a four position sliding buttstock with a adjustable tactical trigger assembly. The upper receiver group was made by Alexander Arms that is also a copy of the Colt design that includes the forward assist and brass/case deflector and Picatinny rail on top. Fitted to this upper receiver is a "TROY Arms" full length, free floating handguard with Picatinny rails on all four sides. The barrel is approximately 24 inches, made of stainless steel barrel chambered in the 6.5 Grendel. This cartridge was introduced in introduced in 2003 and uses the .220 Russian cartridge necked down and shortened so that it can still use the standard AR15 magazine and upper/lower receiver group. It is a highly efficient and accurate cartridge suitable for ranges out to 800 yards with a velocity of 2600-2900 fps. The upper receiver is fitted with a raiser block on which is mounted a, 8X24 power Vector optics Raptor tactical scope with large target knobs and focus adjustment similar to a Leupold tactical scope. It has a 4-plex style reticle with hash-marks for windage and elevation adjustments. It has the original S&W markings on the lower receiver and the original Alexander Arms markings on the upper receiver, as well as TROY on the handguards. It is complete with one, short five round magazine.
