Introduced in 2004. The SCAR-H aluminum receiver features an integral Picatinny rail on the top with two side rails and a bottom rail that can mount any MIL-STD-1913 compliant accessory. It has a polymer lower receiver with an M16 compatible pistol grip, flared magazine well, and raised area around magazine and bolt release buttons. The front sight flips down for unobstructed use of optics and accessories. The rifle uses a "tappet" type of closed gas system. The side of the receiver is marked "FNH USA" and FN HERSTAL BELGIUM/SCAR17S cal. 7.62X51". Ambidextrous safety and magazine release with an adjustable folding buttstock. Complete with a spare, complete sliding buttstock. It has the desirable FDE colored anodized receiver and FDE colored plastic components. Magazine is absent.
