A high condition pre-war DWM Model 1909 rifle manufactured under contract for the government of Argentina. It is marked on top of the receiver ring with the large Argentine crest. The left side of the receiver ring is marked: "MAUSER MODELO/ ARGENTINO 1909". The receiver side wall is marked "DEUTSCHE WAFFEN UND/MUNITIONSFABRIKEN, BERLIN". The rear sight is graduated "2-20" (200-2,000 meter). The top of the sight has a small "anchor" proof which may indicate that it belonged to the Argentine Navy. The rear sight base is marked with the Argentine clasped hands proof. It has milled barrel bands, trigger guard and floor plate. It is fitted with a finger groove, walnut stock and 1/2 length handguard with a flat steel buttplate. The pistol grip area, right side and underside of the buttstock have the correct, clear and distinct Argentine proof marks. It has an all blued finish with a bright polished receiver, bolt assembly and forend tip/bayonet lug. It is complete with a correct cleaning rod and an original brass muzzle cover.
