Description:

Top-break, double-action revolver manufactured by P. Webley & Son for the Wilkinson Sword Company circa 1905. The revolver has an octagon barrel with sighting rib, fluted, six-shot cylinder, fixed rear sight with platinum sight triangle and nickel-silver front sight with serrated edge. The one-piece walnut grip has fine checkering and the butt is fitted with a lanyard ring. The revolver has a high polish commercial blue finish with bright finished hammer and trigger. The top of the barrel rib is engraved with the dealer name: "WILKINSON & SON. PALL MALL, LONDON.". The left side of the barrel is stamped with a small, five-pointed, star with "HW" in the center. The serial number, "8572" is stamped on the left side of the frame and on the left side of the grip at the butt. Also known as the "Webley-Wilkinson-Pryse' revolver, the Webley-Wilkinson revolver was a slightly modified Webley revolver sold by the famous sword maker as a retail item and marked with the Wilkinson. The revolver is complete with an British style oak case with screw-reinforced lid, green baize lining and four compartments including a 24-round cartridge block.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 50% of the high polish blue finish. The revolver shows moderate wear with numerous light scratches and bright finish on contact points. The one-piece walnut grip is in very good condition with moderate handling wear. The action is crisp and tight. The case is a modern reproduction and remains in nearly new condition. This is a solid example of a limited production Webley-Wilkinson DA revolver.
