Description:

Measuring 44 3/4 inches overall, no legible makers marks are present. The blade is 38 inches long, double edged with short triple fullers and a hexagonal cross section showing an etched set of drums and a liberty cap on the left, and the words "No me saques sin razon/no me enbaines sin honor" (do not draw me without reason, do not sheath me without honor) in the fullers on the right, with illegibly faint markings on both sides near the ricasso. Cast brass 3-branch guard, with an oak leaf and laurel wreath cast into the pommel, short leather index finger loop and a brown leather grip with straight wire wrap With a brown leather scabbard with silver finished brass furniture.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The blade has been cleaned and lightly sharpened, with a few chips in the edge and some loss of definition in the etching. A mixed brown patina is showing on the hilt and scabbard furniture, with some casting voids in the knuckle guard and pommel and some scuffing and cracking of the leather. The scabbard is a bit undersized for the blade with cracking on either side of the drag; when sheathed, the blade tip pokes through.
