Description:

This is just a fabulous example of an all original GI issue type, M14 fully automatic/NFA rifle that was acquired from the H&R factory museum in the early/mid 1980s. This rifle is all 100% original and is NOT a reconversion or assembled rifle of any type; this is the real deal! These M14 rifles are extremely rare as the U.S. Government has never released any M14 rifles for civilian sales due to their original fully automatic rifle designation. The original H&R Arms Company was going through a very difficult time in the late 1970s and early 1980s and eventually went into bankruptcy/receivership and as part of that restructuring, they sold off all the various rifles and pistols that were kept in the company museum. It has all its original GI contract M14 parts correctly marked with the appropriate H&R/Government drawing numbers along with its original factory parkerized finish overall. It is fitted with its original GI fiberglass handguard and walnut stock. The stock has a single DOD cartouche, but it lacks the firing proof. The rear of the receiver is marked: "U.S. RIFLE/7.62 MM M14/H.&R. ARMS CO". The side of the barrel is marked with: "H R 7790190 4-62 A4". The operating rod is marked is marked: "7267064 HRA", and the bolt is marked "7791086/HRT A12/AGE". The trigger housing is marked: 7267030-HR-N", and the hammer is marked 5546008-HR-N". It has an HRA marked safety. The side of the windage knob is marked "HRA-W", and the elevation knob is marked: "WC-E" indicating both are subcontracted parts. It has its original gas cylinder and front sight assembly. It is complete with one original GI M14 magazine that is marked on the spine "BRW/S-1".

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus with 99% plus of its original H&R factory parkerized finish overall with a hint of wear on the receiver side rail from cycling the action. The stock and handguard are also both in excellent plus, like new condition showing no handling marks or dings anywhere, with a clear sharp DOD cartouche. If you are a serious US Martial arms collector and/or Class III collector this is what you need to fill that hole in your collection. This is the finest M14 that we have ever offered at auction! Note: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), Class 3, Fully Automatic Weapon, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATF) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
