Description:

This is a very fine example of a fully automatic Mauser Model 1932 machine pistol as manufactured circa 1932-1935. These were a standard pre-War Model 1930 Mauser pistol that was manufactured as a fully automatic weapon, with this one produced for export to China in the early 1930s. These Mauser Broomhandle pistols were a favorite of the Chinese warlords with several thousand sold to the Chinese Government during the 1930s, both as fully automatic and semi-automatic pistols. This is a late contract model with the more familiar "Westinger" designed, two position "locking" selector switch. Approximately 95,000 were produced for both military and commercial. This pistol has the standard, three-line Mauser factory address markings on the right side with the three-line Mauser markings on top of the chamber area with a single "Crown/U" proof on the left side of the barrel extension and top of the bolt. The left side of the lower frame has the Westinger designed selector switch that is marked "N" and "R" with a small Mauser Banner logo behind the switch. The upper left side of the magazine well is stamped with three Chinese characters, which read: "Made In Germany". The serial number, "17548" is stamped on the eh left side of the barrel extension. It is fitted with a set of original unnumbered, 12 groove, walnut grips. It is complete with one ten shot magazine that is stamped with a "MAUSER" banner on the base plate. This is an extremely rare pistol as so few were manufactured with only a very small number of Chinese marked pistols brought in and legally registered in the U.S.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as partially refinished (cold blue present on top of barrel extention and stock slot) with 90% plus of the original Mauser blued finish overall, with some minor edge and high spot wear with finish loss on the front edges of the frame rails and back strap, with thinning on the underside of the barrel. The walnut grips are also in very fine condition with a nice matching color on both sides, with minor handling marks with 10% of the varnish still on the grips. A very nice all original example of a scarce prewar Chinese contract Mauser Model 1932 Schnellfeuer machine pistol. Note: This item is restricted as a National Firearms Act (NFA), Fully Automatic Weapon that is currently registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (BATF&E) that has been classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
